In a recent interview with Thurl Bailey, Thurl discussed the aspects that he sees in Zrii, that are similar to winning that national championship in 1983.

Thurl Bailey:

First of all there is no substitute for a great leader. So first, a great leader has to be established. Bill Farley has a long history of being a great leader and a visionary. You are talking about a guy who has a career of owning and growing billion dollar companies such as fruit of the loom and BVD and many others.

He is a guy who won the Horatio Algers award which distinguishes individuals for their achievements in entrepreneur-ship. Some of the past winners include President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Gerald Ford, McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, Collin Powell and my favorite - Oprah Winfrey. This man has a history of success; he has a history of being a visionary. He has the history of picking winners and hitting it right out of the park, or I guess in my field of slam-dunking it.

Network marketing has always been a great distribution method, and if you have a great product and a great leader and a great team put together - you have a great future, And Zrii has already started to break records.

One of the things that I truly believe in is credibility. There is no question in my mind that Bill Farley has it. Parents send their kids to me to learn basketball. Some of them have never seen me play but they know my record, they know I am credible. Well that is why the Chopra Center for Well-Being’s endorsement is monumental. Now the Chopra Center for Well-Being was founded by Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. David Simon, and the interesting thing is, and I love this story:

When Bill Farley sat down with Dr. Chopra and Dr. David Simon he asked them - If I could take one thing for my health for the rest of my life, what would that be? And Dr. Chopra and Dr. Simon said: Well, that would be the Amalaki. So with this information Bill Farley approached his formulation team and he said: Guys, we have the Amalaki fruit, a fruit that has been used for thousands of years for medicinal purposes. How can we create the most effective product?

So the formulation team decided that if one thing is good, that more of it is not necessarily better. They could have just as easily created a great product from just the Amalaki fruit alone. But this is the part I like, because I have been part of a team and I know how one person does not win a game, even if he is the star of that team. It takes a lot of players working together to make each other better. So they came up with six other botanicals to enhance the amalaki fruit. This includes Haritaki, Turmeric, Schizandra, Ginger, Jujube and Tulsi. Their idea is that this formulation combines ancient wisdom with modern science.

Well, I have loved the product! As an athlete when I played in the NBA, I was always thinking about that next game, and how I could get an advantage on my opponent. So physically I had to make sure that what I consumed would not hurt me, but would only enhance what I did out there on the basketball court. So after my retirement, you know when my lifestyle changed and I did not have to go to the weight room every single day, I did not have to work out twice a day. I did not have to go to practice; I knew that I would have to change some of the things that I did.

So with my energy levels as busy as I am now with the things that I do throughout the day, I look for things that give me energy naturally. That is where I have seen where Zrii has helped me the most - by keeping my energy levels up from the time I get up in the morning to go work out, to the time I go to bed. It is interesting too, because when it is time to go to bed, you do not want to be lying there wide awake and not being able to sleep because you have some artificial ingredients inside of you. What ever happened to Thurl Bailey?

You may remember Thurl as part of the 1983 NCAA championship Team - the North Carolina Wolf pack. If you don’t know: The North Carolina State Victory over the Houston Cougars in 1983, has been called one of the top five finishes EVER in sports. Thurl was a key player in what’s been called “a miracle run” of that North Carolina State, Cinderella team.

It was an accomplishment that probably 90% of the world, didn’t believe they had a chance at reaching. Thurl went on to play professional basketball with the Utah Jazz, the Greek League, the Italian League before retiring with the Utah Jazz in 1999.

Thurl has a strong sense of service, which drives him to perform countless hours of volunteer work, especially with children teaching them lessons about life and basketball. He has received numerous awards for leadership and contributions to the community such as the NBA’s prestigious Kennedy Community Award, the Utah Association for Gifted Children’s Community Service Award, Sigma Gamma Chi fraternity’s Exemplary Manhood Award, the Great Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s American Champion Award and the Italian League’s 1998 All Star Games Most Valuable Player.

In a recent interview, Thurl had these words to say about basketball, that North Carolina Wolf pack team, and his newest Team efforts at Zrii:

Having experienced that national championship in 1983 - it was just a story book ending, the kind of ending that everybody dreams to live in real life. What you take away from that hopefully transitions to other parts of your life - whether its business, whether its home. You know, everybody wants to work with a great team. I don’t care what kind of team - basketball team, or your family which is obvious a team, or if it’s a team in business.

It was Ray Kroc who said “Nothing of any significance has ever been done by one person”. So when you have an opportunity like I did in basketball: to win a championship, to be able to “cut down the nets” - you want to take that feeling, and you want it to last a lifetime. Memories definitely last a lifetime, but you want to take all those things that you learn as you are building up to that final moment where that ball went into the hoop when you shot and you won the national championship and you want to take those feelings. You look for it, in everything you do - you look for it.

You look for those people that you want to work with, who are going to help to win that next championship - they are going to help you cut down that next set of nets. I believe that I have found that in Zrii.
